How to get there
Lefkada island is located approximately 380 km away from Athens (via the Rio-Antirrio bridge of Patras and the newly-built Ionian highway) and approximately 377 km away from Thessaloniki.
There are frequent flights from Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) to Aktion airport, which is located 17 km away from Lefkada, next to the town of Preveza. During the summer months, flight schedules to Aktion airport are increased. For further information, please contact your air carrier.
There are no direct ship routes to Lefkada. You can arrive by ship at the port of Igoumenitsa and continue your trip by car for about 95 km. Alternatively, you can disembark at the port of Patras and then drive for about 180 km. There are daily ship routes from many Italian ports to Corfu island and Igoumenitsa. You can also come to Lefkada by bus. The bus departing from Athens takes around 5 hours to arrive to Lefkada, while the bus departing from Thessaloniki takes around 4.5 hours.
